One more MLA of ruling BJP ally in Tripura, IPFT – Mevar Kumar Jamatia had submitted his resignation as MLA to Speaker Ratan Chakraborty in his office in the Secreteriat on Tuesday.
Jamiat a former Minister said he and as well as the government had failed to perform and fulfils the aspirations of people of the state and so he had resigned.
Few months back he was elected as the party’s president but was removed as his differences with the IPFT fatherly figure NC Debbarma over merging the party with TIPRA Motha had openly gone against each other and Jamatia had to lose his ministership.
Jamatia is the third IPFT MLA to resign after Briswaketu Debbarma and Dhanonjoy Tripura.
Both joined Pradyot Kishore Deb Barma led TIPRA Motha later.
Meantime, earlier three ruling BJP MLAs – Sudip Roy Barman, Asish Kumar Saha, Burbamohan Tripura and Asish Das had resigned.
Though Roy Barman and Saha had joined their earlier party Congress, Tripura went to TIPRA Motha and Das joined Trinamool Congress.
Again former CM Biplab Kumar Deb who was removed from his post had later resigned after getting elected as Rajya Sabha member.
