Agartala: Dec 14: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting Tripura on coming December 18 and during which he will address a public meeting beside interact with the BJP leadership in Agartala, informed Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Wednesday.
The CM informed this speaking to reporters in the sidelines of a one day orientation programme on Amar Sarkar, a time bound grievance redressal portal for the rural people, and Localization of Sustainable Development Goals, organised by the Panchayat Department at Prajna Bhavan.
Dr Saha said that on December 18 he along with Chief Ministers of other state of the region shall be there at a meeting in Shillong with the PM and from there shall arrive here on the same day with the Prime Minister and who is scheduled to launch several development schemes beside meeting with the ruling party MLAs and interact with the BJP core committee members.According to reports the Prime Minister would preside over the golden jubilee celebrations of the North Eastern Council (NEC), a regional planning body.
Modi is also likely to attend a programme at IIM Shillong. The Governors and Chief Ministers of all the eight northeastern states are scheduled to attend the NEC programme. In Tripura, the Prime Minister may address a public gathering at Swami Vivekananda ground in Agartala and inaugurate some projects and lay foundation stones for a few projects.Though the Prime Minister’s itinerary has not been announced officially, administrative and security related arrangements are being made.
Earlier in the day the CM along with Chief Secretary JK Sinha, DGP Amitabh Ranjan and other senior officials had visited the MBB airport here to inspect the preparedness for welcoming the PM.Meantime activities for decorating the capital city, maintenance of roads, putting up of temporary structures at Vivekananda Maidan, security arrangements and other preparations for the upcoming visit of the PM is going on at war footing.
