Agartala: May 12: In a bid to address the recurring blood crisis faced by blood banks during elections, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha emphasized the need for a unified electoral process. Speaking at the inauguration of a blood donation camp at Prajapita Brahmakumari Ishwariya University, Dr. Saha highlighted the potential benefits of implementing “one country, one election.”
The concept of simultaneous elections across the nation has gained traction, with a committee already formed under the chairmanship of the former president. The committee’s report supports the idea that synchronized elections could alleviate blood shortages in banks.
Dr. Saha expressed optimism about the convenience such an electoral system would bring to the government. He also acknowledged the role of faith, noting the shift from an atheist atmosphere in Tripura to one where believers thrive.
During the blood donation camp, many volunteers stepped forward enthusiastically to donate blood. Sports Minister Tinku Roy and other dignitaries joined Dr. Saha in encouraging voluntary blood donors.
