Agartala: Dec 07: With just two months left for the assembly election of Tripura scheduled in February next year, on Wednesday top CPIM and Congress leaders were found sharing the same platform which is considered indication towards a new Opposition political dynamics in the coming days against the ruling BJP government.
Earlier both Congress and CPIM party leaders have repeatedly called the secular democratic forces to unitedly fight and raise voice against the present fascist regime under BJP in the state and as well as at the center. Today during a program to honour the local unsung freedom fighters of Tripura organized by the CPIML party under the banner of Freedom – 75 year competition celebration committee at the Agartala Press Club, several opposition party leaders including Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman, former MLA and senior Congress leader Asish Kumar Saha, CPIM state secretary and former MP Jitendra Chowdhury beside other Left party leaders were found sharing the dais.
Addressing the gathering CPIM state secretary Chowdhury said that the present regime is trying to destroy the Constitution and weaken the country by dividing the countryman in the name of religion like the British. Then the Indians came together against Britishers under the banner of Indian National Congress. Today again the secular, democratic, nationalist and regional forces need to unite together against the RSS and BJP which is trying to destroy aspirations of freedom struggle.
He added that it is very much possible to uproot BJP because this party with its false vote promises could come to power but except few in majority of states did not get 50 percent of the vote share and for that all secular democratic parties needed to get united against the conspiracy of the fascist forces.
Similar was the view of other speakers including senior Congress leader Saha who urged to unite against the fascist fundamentalist forces which are trying to change the history and secular democratic principles of the country.
He raised concerns over the manner in which the BJP led government in Tripura and at the centre is functioning and viewed that a blueprint has been worked out to destroy the unity in diversity in India as BJP believes in single religion, language or community and which reveals the autocratic tendencies and is dangerous. Saha viewed that the present government is trying to distort history as communal forces are shouting they are true patriots and true patriots are being projected as anti nationals.
Hitting at RSS and BJP the Congress leader said, “They understand that their slavery to British and inaction are known by the people. So, they now want to overturn the history of freedom struggle. They want to take help from social media and godi media.”He viewed it is high time and urged secular, democratic people to come to fight unitedly against communal and anti human forces.
