Agartala: Dec 14: Assam Rifles Battalion conducted Tree Plantation Drive at Radhanagar on 14 December 2023. A total of 103 saplings of all varieties were planted by 48 troops and 21 villagers.The drive aimed to spread awareness amongst locals about the importance of Tree Plantation and how it has a direct impact on our lives. India is facing many environmental issues such as air pollution, water pollution and the degradation of forests. All this has resulted in increasing greenhouse gas Concentrations land and ocean temperatures, sea level rise, melting ice and extreme weather. Climate change has also impacted the socio-economic development of the country. Eco-system restoration is the need of the hour and can only happen through active planting.The said event emphasised inhculcating positive attitude among local people towards healthy sanitation practices.
