Agartala, November 16: In a distressed incident on Thursday, a head-on collision between a bus and a jeep on National Highway 8 in the Baramura hills, Khowai district of Tripura, at least 20 individuals were injured, with ten in critical condition.
The unfolding tragedy caught the attention of Opposition Leader Animesh Debbarma, who, coincidentally passing through the area, promptly halted his convoy to spearhead a crucial rescue operation.
Debbarma, alongside his security personnel, played a pivotal role in coordinating with local police officials.
He organized firefighting efforts that successfully rescued the injured from the mangled vehicles, ensuring swift transportation to the hospital for necessary medical attention.
The Opposition Leader’s timely intervention showcased a commendable display of leadership and humanitarian efforts in the face of adversity.
