Agartala: Nov 24: On demand of recruitment of Multi Purpose Workers (MPW) in the health department, unemployed ANM passed MPW aspirants agitated in front of the Directorate of Health Services of government of Tripura on Thursday.
The agitators raised slogans demanding the government to immediately recruit MPW and fulfill the vacant posts lying in primary health centers across the state as these health centers is on the verge of closure due to inadequate health staff including MPW.
The agitators also rose why the state government had not recruited MPW after the year 2017 despite more than eleven hundred unemployed MPW aspirants across the state and many more studying in the field in several colleges here including in government colleges.
The agitators viewed that several times they had written to the state’s CM and Health Minister beside the secretary and director of Health Services but failed to get appointment. They viewed that during Covid pandemic the government had used the unemployment MPW on temporary basis for vaccination in the community health centers and primary health centers but now those people have lost their jobs.
Earlier on few occasions they also agitated on the same in front of the gate of the secretariat beside demanding time for meetings with the Chief Minister to aware him regarding their issue.
