Agartala: Sept 29: Pradyot Kishore Deb Barma, the founder of TIPRA Motha, has called upon his party’s leaders and supporters, especially the youth, to unite and ensure the success of tomorrow’s bandh.
He emphasized the importance of sending a clear message to BJP leaders at Delhi including the PM and HM that the constitutional rights of indigenous people must be upheld.
Pradyot stressed that this call for unity should be pursued peacefully, without resorting to violence. Additionally, Pradyot directed his criticism towards the CPIM for their opposition to the bandh.
He highlighted that former CM Manik Sarkar, who governed the state for two decades and was famously recognized as the poorest CM in India, but it is also a fact that during his period the indigenous people in Tripura remained among the most economically disadvantaged in the region.
Pradyot underscored that this struggle is about seeking justice and ensuring the survival of indigenous communities. He expressed his belief that tomorrow’s 12-hour strike will serve as a testament to the strength and determination of the TIPRA movement.
