Agartala : Sept 06:. The third National Lok Adalat of this year will be held in the state on September 9. Apart from the Tripura High Court, these Lok Adalats will be held on public holidays in all district and sub-divisional court premises of the state. Member Secretary Sabyasachi Datta Purkayastha and Deputy Secretary Hena Begum told a press conference at the conference hall of Tripura State Law Service Authority today.
On this day, he also said that approximately 15,271 cases will be taken up for settlement in 71 benches in this people’s court. This includes approximately 7,467 matters related to pre-litigation disputes. Out of which there are approximately 6,846 cases related to repayment of bank loans and approximately 621 cases related to disputes related to unpaid bills of telecommunication corporations.
Besides, approximately 7,804 cases pending in the courts will be taken up for settlement. These include Motor Accident Compensation Cases, Consumer Court Cases, Arbitrable Criminal Disputes Cases (including MV Act Cases, TP Act Cases, TG Act Cases Excise Cases etc.), Matrimonial Dispute Cases, Check Bounce (NI Act) Cases, Others Civil cases and employment cases.
On this day he also said that a bench will sit in the Tripura High Court on the occasion of the National Lok Adalat. Approximately 65 cases will be taken up for disposal in this bench. A maximum of 16 benches will sit in the Agartala court premises. Notices have already been given to both parties in the case. He said that there will be a help desk in the court premises to help the citizens.
In addition, paralegal volunteers will assist people who have been notified at the court premises.
