They demanded the intervention of President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to reestablish peace in the state which is burning for more than two months.
Addressing a press conference in Agartala on Thursday evening secretary of TWF Sharmila Debbarma said that this is not the insult of any Kuki or Meitei rather of all women and mothers and the state government has failed to provide safety and security so the President and Prime Minister of India should intervene to protect human dignity and lives in the troubled state.
She along with other members and leaders of Tripura’s main opposition party’s women organization said that they stood in solidarity and demand justice, punishment and accountability for what happened in Manipur.
