Agartala July 19: Buxnagar MLA and CPIM State Committee member Samsul Haque passed away on Tuesday night. He suddenly felt ill due to shortness of breath at night. Immediately, his son GB was brought to the hospital by car. The doctor on duty of the emergency department conducted a physical examination and declared him dead.
The doctor said that Samsul Haque died of heart attack. He was 74 years old at the time of his death. Shamsul Haque, an MLA from Boxanagar Assembly Constituency, breathed his last at GB Hospital in Pune at around one o’clock last night. He was 73 years old at the time of his death. On Tuesday, MLA Shamsul Haque took his daughter-in-law to see a doctor from his house in Kulubari in Sonamura to his MLA residence in Agartala. At six o’clock in the evening, the doctor went to see former minister Shahid Chowdhury at the hospital. After returning from there, around 11 pm, he fell ill due to respiratory problems. He was taken to GB Hospital. MLA was admitted there. He breathed his last at half past two in the morning. The doctor said the MLA died of heart disease. He survived by his wife and four sons.
In the last assembly elections, he contested from the CPIM and won as an MLA. And before becoming an MLA was Chairman of Boxanagar Panchayat Samiti. He has left an impression on state politics including Sonamura subdivision. Hearing the news of his death, many supporters rushed to GB Hospital. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha expressed his condolences on social media. May the soul of late Samsul Haque rest in peace. Meanwhile, the dead body of the late MLA was brought to the Legislative Assembly from GB Hospital. The last tribute was paid to the late MLA Shamsul Haque. The MLAs present all paid their respects by offering floral tributes to the dead body of the late MLA. Present MLA and Vice-Principal Ramprasad Pal said, he is shocked by the death of his classmate. For the last few days in the state assembly, all the legislators have been thinking about the issues related to the interest of the people of the state and working together. But everyone is saddened by his premature death. MLA Sudip Roy Barman said that the death of Shamsul Haque is unbelievable.
He said that his death will be a great loss. Later the body was brought to the CPIM state office. CPIM leaders paid their last respects to the late MLA there. Politburo member Manik Sarkar, Left Front convener Narayan Kar, CPIM state committee member and former minister Manik Dey were present. He said that the late MLA Shamsul Haque played a big role in protecting the unity of the people and against communal forces and autocratic forces. The untimely demise of this elected representative is a loss for the party. The team has lost an organizer and a leader. He also said that the ideology that he has left behind will encourage the people of Boxanagar. Later, the CPIM leaders took the dead body of late MLA around the streets of the city. It is to be noted that the MLA’s body was then taken to his assembly seat Boxanagar Kulubari and the frozen body of Shamsul Haque. From there it was brought to Sonamura divisional office. It is known that he became the head of Kulubari village panchayat in 1979. It gradually gained popularity through Panchayat management. Then he engaged himself in various social activities in Sonamura and reached the top position of a political figure as well as a social figure. The shadow of mourning falls on the political circles. At present, among the 60 assembly constituencies in the state, after Dhanpur, the Boxanagar MLA has become vacant. By-elections will be held in both centres.
