Agartala: June 21: Number one as a sister state in the North East we have to realise that Manipur is going through a very difficult phase and it is time for all the people of the North East to stand together behind the people of Manipur and support them in whatever way possible hence we need to be positive from that angle but ta the same time there are concerns from the citizens that there are issues at the locality levelvel where people are coming in large numbers.
We have put a system in place where the Rangbahshnongs and the district administration are keeping track of everybody who is coming in specific directions has been given to all the administration that records have to be kept of the all the people that are coming in so that we can efficiently monitor the movement of the people.
The situation in Manipur is very serious and tense and we all are appealing for peace and that peace should return and whatever necessary steps that needs to be taken from the central government side should be done at the earliest so that peace can prevail and talks can start between the different groups. So within the constitutional provisions whatever the government of India can decide or should take a decision quickly so that peace can come back.
At the same time we also appeal that whatever humanitarian support that can be given from all angles should be done. The GOI should ensure that food and other materials should be there in sufficient quantity and it should reach the areas where people are in need of it.
