Agartala, June 13: In a shocking development, Executive Member of Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC), Kamal Koloi was served notice for his alleged attempt to grab RF land at Monthang in Teliamura subdivision.
It has been alleged that Koloi had encroached the forest land and set up a resort at Monthang under Nonacherra RF village in Teliamura subdivision where people are visiting it to embrace the nature.
“It has come to the notice that you have encroached a forest land at Monthang and developed it as a resort and using for commercial purpose. Therefore, you are asked to explain reason why the plot will not be vacated as per the law. You ar requested to make your stand clear before the Sub-Divisional Forest Officer (SDFO), Teliamura at 11 am on June 14”, the notice reads.
The SDFO further said the Forest department had already requested him to vacate the land which will be used for people livelihood puroses who are involved in Self Help Groups (SHGs) but he did not pay heed.
“Finding no other alternative, we have issued notice to Mr. Koloi to explain the reason why the department will not evict the structure from the forest land on June 14. After hearing him, the department will take action as per the law”, he added.
