Agartala, May 23 : Former Indian cricket captain is all set to become brand ambassador of Tripura tourism, said Chief Minister Manik Saha in a Facebook post on Tuesday.
Taking to microblogging platform, the Chief Minister said the ex Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly has accepted the offer to become brand ambassador of Tripura tourism.
“It’s a matter of great pride that former captain of Indian cricket team Shri Sourav Ganguly Ji has accepted our proposal to be the Brand Ambassador of Tripura Tourism. Had a telephonic conversation with him today.
I am confident that Shri Ganguly Ji’s participation will definitely give an impetus to the state’s tourism sector”, he said. Tourism minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Tuesday met with the former captain of the Indian cricket Sourav Ganguly and offered to be the brand ambassador of Tripura Tourism.
Chowdhury underlined need to have a wide-spread advertising and constructive branding in tapping the potentiality of tourism sector to the world.
He said, “Tripura needs proper promotion and popular branding to take it to the world and for that we need a popular brand ambassador who is known all over the world! Who could be a more popular personality than our beloved grand dada Sourav Ganguly, the former captain of the Indian cricket team, to promote Tripura’s tourism to the world! As a part of our efforts, I met former Indian cricket team captain Ganguly in Kolkata in Behala and offered him to be brand ambassador to promote tourism”.
“I hope soon, we will have a positive response from the former Indian cricket captain”, he added.
