Congress leaders and supporters of Tripura on Sunday paid tribute to former Prime Minister of India Rajiv Gandhi on his 32nd death anniversary.
The first programme of paying floral tribute took place in front of Congress Bhavan in Agartala followed by similar ceremonies at nearby Gandhi Ghat.
Large number of Congress leaders including MLA, former Ministers, party’s senior leaders and office bearers participated in the event as they recalled the late PM’s contribution in the nation building by developing the telecom telecommunication and introducing computer revolution in India.
Congress also organized a blood donation camp on the day at the party headquarters here.
Similar programs to pay tribute to Rajiv Gandhi was organized across the state.
Gandhi, was assassinated by a Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) suicide bomber during an election rally in Sriperumbudur in Tamil Nadu in 1991.
