Two days after AK Mishra, the central government’s interlocutor for initiating talks on Tripura’s missed his visit in the state for the second time, former Chief Minister and CPIM politburo member Manik Sarkar today said Pradyot Kishore has been “caught in a trap”.Speaking to reporters here on Sunday, Sarkar reacted to the delay in interlocutor’s visit to Tripura and said, “Pradyot Kishore should be asked and he can clarify the issue. He has been caught in a trap. Now he has to think how he will get free from this trap. Why would I waste time talking about it? Let’s see what he says”.
Sarkar also jibed at the state Chief Minister and the government for being apparently “not in the know” about the interlocutor’s appointment just days before the state General Administration (Political) Department issued a notification on May 10 saying Akshay Kumar Mishra, Advisor to the Government of India on NE affairs to Tripura would be treated as state guest during his visit starting May 12. Only recently the state Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha had said that he has no information about any interlocutor been appointed by the central government in order to look into the issue of constitutional solution to the development of the indigenous section of people of the state and as raised by the TIPRA Motha party and its chairman Pradyot Kishore Debbarma who after meeting the union Home Minister Amit Saha at New Delhi on May 10 had declared that interlocutor AK Mishra shall be arriving to Tripura on May 12 but for the second time it was cancelled.
