Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Friday said that union Home Minister Amit Shah during his recent meeting at New Delhi had asked him to continue the anti-drugs operations ‘ruthlessly’ in the state.
He said this speaking to reporters at the Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan in Agartala in the sideline of annual State Award for Academic Excellence to School students-2022 organised by the Education department of government of Tripura.
During the programme in total 202 students who in the class X and class XII board examination 2022 in various categories had achieved outstanding results were felicitated with certificate and iPad.
The Chief Minister said that the main objective of the programme is to encourage and motivate students to do better results and improve their career prospects.
He claimed that it has been noticed in the recent past already the results of students particularly from the indigenous and other backward community have improved significantly and it can be attributed from the increase in pass percentage rate among the students.
The CM said that the government is committed to provide quality education in the state so that the students can face the challenges in the future.
He also urged that students to keep away from drug addiction and be part of the mass movement against drugs.
Senior officials of the education department were also present in the programme with school students and teachers.
