TIPRA Motha chairman Pradyot Kishore Debbarma on his arrival to Agartala today said that he is going for an important meeting with senior leaders, MDCs and MLAs of his party before taking final decision on the pending issue of appointment of interlocutor and which was suppose to be declared by the government of India on Tuesday, March 28 and as informed to him by Union Home Minister Amit Shah over phone few days back.
DebBarma informed this speaking to reporters at the MBB airport on his arrival from Guwahati. Three days back Pradyot had threatened to go for hunger strike unto death if the MHA by 28th March does not declare the name of interlocutor in connection to discussions on development of the indigenous people of Tripura and government of India.
He said that if the government of India is not willing to declare the name of interlocutor and which is vital for the development of the tribal section of people, then TIPRA Motha which is in the Opposition in Tripura also knows what role it can play as an opposition.
Meantime, since last night TIPRA Motha supporters have started gathering in the national highway near Baramura also known a Hatai Katoir and are waiting for the decision of Pradyot, royal scion of Tripura, and preparing for joining a hunger strike blocking the route.
Pradyot is likely to declare regarding his next step during a press conference in the evening at around 6 PM today.
