Agartala, March 26: As part of its nationwide ‘Satyagraha’ programme to protest against the disqualification of Rahul Gandhi from Lok Sabha, on Sunday Tripura Congress also demonstrated a protest in Agartala.
Congress leaders and workers gathered in front of the Gandhi statue here with banner ‘democracy in danger’ and protested against the move as they raised slogans.
Senior Congress leader and former MLA Ashish Kumar Saha along with other senior leaders raised slogans during the protest demonstration against the BJP government at the centre under Prime Minister Modi.
Saha alleged that Narendra Modi is scared of the growing popularity Rahul Gandhi especially since the Bharat Joro Abhiya.
He added that Modi is afraid of Rahul Gandhi because he has been raising various issues of the common people in the Parliament and the failure of this government.
The senior Congress leader said that due to Rahul Gandhi the situation was becoming increasingly difficult for this government especially in the coming Parliamentary election in 2024 and so a conspiracy has been hatched against him resulting to his disqualification from the Lok Sabha.
He said that the BJP led government at the center under PM Modi during its last nine years rule has not kept any of its poll promises, moreover, Rahul Gandhi in addition to raising all these burning issues also questioned regarding Ambani and Adani and so to stop his voice in the Parliament this conspiracy has been hatched against him.
He said that Indian democracy and secularism is in problem and as Rahul Gandhi was raising all these issues so to throttle his voice this conspiracy has been hatched.
