Agartala, Oct 22: Families of three Tripura residents who died in Bengaluru have appealed to the state government and the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) for urgent financial and administrative assistance to bring the mortal remains of their loved ones home for the last rites.
The deceased have been identified as Sajjit Debbarma (43), Laxmi Debbarma (22) and Parikshit Debbarma. All three had reportedly travelled to Bengaluru in search of employment and better livelihood opportunities.
The circumstances surrounding their deaths remain unclear, and the families are awaiting official information about the cause of the tragedy.
The uncertainty has compounded the grief of the bereaved families, who are struggling to cope with the sudden loss while also facing the challenge of completing the necessary formalities to bring the bodies back to their native places.
Family members said the expenses involved in transporting the mortal remains from Bengaluru to Tripura were beyond their financial means. They have urged the state administration and TTAADC authorities to provide financial assistance and extend necessary logistical support to facilitate the transportation.
The families have also sought prompt administrative intervention to expedite the process, saying they want to perform the last rites of their loved ones without further delay.
The deaths have caused concern in the victims’ native areas, where relatives and community members are waiting for more information about the circumstances of the incident.
The incident has also highlighted the difficulties faced by economically vulnerable families when relatives working outside their home state die unexpectedly. Besides coping with the emotional trauma, families often have to arrange substantial funds to transport mortal remains over long distances and complete related administrative formalities.
For the families of the three deceased, bringing their loved ones home has become an immediate priority amid the uncertainty surrounding the deaths.
They have appealed to the authorities to extend all possible assistance and ensure that the mortal remains are brought back to Tripura at the earliest.
Further details about the circumstances of the deaths and the assistance sought by the families were awaited.
