Agartala, October 14:
Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Wednesday urged people to celebrate Durga Puja peacefully, strengthen bonds of brotherhood and maintain law and order, while warning that excessively loud DJ music could cause serious problems for elderly people, patients and other residents.
Speaking to reporters after inaugurating community Durga Puja celebrations organised by Chatra Bondhu club in Agartala, Saha said common people, the government and different sections of society should work together to take Tripura forward.
“We should all live in peace and remain well. The government and the people should work together, holding each other’s hands and standing shoulder to shoulder, to take Tripura forward,” he said.
The Chief Minister stressed the importance of maintaining peace and harmony during the festive days, adding that the bonds of brotherhood among people should become stronger.
He also urged people to uphold the state’s traditions and work collectively for its continued progress, praying to Goddess Durga for the well-being and good health of the people.
Saha said Durga Puja celebrations across Tripura were being organised well, adding that the state’s festivities were no less impressive than those in neighbouring West Bengal.
He also noted that arrangements had been made for distributing new clothes during the festive season, particularly benefiting children and other sections of society.
On the use of DJ music during celebrations, the Chief Minister appealed to organisers and others to avoid excessively loud sound, citing the difficulties it causes for elderly people, patients and ordinary residents.
“People should be respected. Those who are still using DJs should try to understand the problems they can cause. It creates serious difficulties for elderly people and patients. Even ordinary people can suffer from excessive noise,” he said.
Saha urged people to refrain from activities that cause inconvenience to others and to ensure that the celebrations remain peaceful and enjoyable for everyone.
