Agartala, Oct 11 (PTI) Tripura Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu on Sunday attended the Cultural Programme and Adivasi Baul Utsav-2026 organised at Shri Gouranga Vidya Mandir Higher Secondary School in Debcharan Bairagipara, Kendrai Cherra, Jampuijala.
The event brought together cultural enthusiasts and local residents to celebrate traditional music, folk culture and the rich heritage of indigenous communities in the state.
The Adivasi Baul Utsav aimed to highlight the significance of folk traditions and provide a platform for showcasing the region’s cultural diversity. The programme also underscored the role of cultural events in preserving traditional art forms and passing them on to younger generations.
The Governor’s presence at the event highlighted the importance of promoting indigenous cultural heritage and encouraging community participation in cultural activities.
Tripura, home to several indigenous communities with distinct languages, customs, music and traditions, has a rich tradition of folk performances and cultural festivals. Such events provide opportunities for artists to showcase their talents while strengthening awareness of the state’s diverse cultural identity.
The programme at Jampuijala formed part of efforts to celebrate and preserve traditional cultural expressions through public participation and performances.
