**Agartala, August 18:** Tripura Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker Ram Prasad Paul met Union Home Minister Amit Shah at his residence on Monday and discussed a range of issues concerning the state’s development, governance and future growth prospects.
Paul described the meeting as a courtesy call but said the interaction also provided an opportunity for a detailed discussion on Tripura’s overall development, existing challenges and opportunities in key sectors.
According to the Deputy Speaker, the discussions focused on ways to transform Tripura into a prosperous and self-reliant state through effective governance, strategic planning and continued development initiatives.
Several issues related to infrastructure development, public welfare and governance figured during the interaction. The two leaders also discussed the importance of Central government support for initiatives aimed at improving the living standards of people across Tripura.
