Agartala, February 15, 2023: The royal scion of Tripura and TIPRA Motha chairman Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarman’s statement on the last day of election campaigning has created a confusion among the minds of common masses, especially indigenous people as he claimed that it his last time to seek votes for his regional party.
Politicians always claim that electorates are their Gods and as defeat and victory cannot be predicted, how come a politician, who is a royal scion can claim that he will leave the ground abandoning his people on a directionless ship.
In Hindi dialect, he said “Mera time neta mein, rajniti mein aab khatam” (My time as a leader in politics stops here) Today is my last day, you won’t find me in any manch”. However, he also claimed that until and unless he doesn’t acquire “Greater Tipraland” he will not stop. Not only this, he changed his direction asking for constitution solution by providing full autonomy to the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council ‘TTAADC’.
Such different statements of the TIPRA Motha chairman is leaving the indigenous people in great dilemma. A section of indigenous people are of the view that if he leaves them and what if, the victory doesn’t favour the Motha then what would happen to them? Moreover, the section is also of the view that ‘Bubagra’ is having a secret understanding with the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party’s national leadership and pushing the Left Front and Congress into the gorge during this assembly election. What if TIPRA Motha doesn’t succeed and ‘Bubagra’ doesn’t return, will the other leaders continue to fight following his ideologies?
All these questions depict the picture that the royal scion is playing a narrow-minded politics by saying that he will be no more seen in any dais and no more do politics.
Last but not the least, an emotion is working for the royal scion Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarman who is connected with TIPRA Motha fighting for the indigenous people popularly known as ‘Tiprasa’. If he leave the dais and determined not to come back, it will be an irreparable loss for the ‘Tiprasa’ people.
On the other hand, his numerous statements are creating disturbances for his well-wishers and friendly political parties’ leaders what to do and what not to because it seems that the royal scion is still pursuing a childish attitude.
