The Chief Minister emphasized that the latest episode held special significance for Tripura and the Northeast, as the Prime Minister gave notable attention to the region’s bamboo sector. Dr. Saha described this recognition as a moment of pride, stating that bamboo-based activities are witnessing significant growth and opening new avenues for livelihood and sustainable development.
He further pointed out that the expansion of bamboo industries is playing a crucial role in strengthening the local economy. By promoting eco-friendly practices and supporting rural entrepreneurship, the sector is contributing to long-term, sustainable growth in the Northeast. Dr. Saha added that such initiatives are expected to create broader development opportunities and improve economic resilience in the region.
Also present at the event were senior BJP leaders, including former West Bengal BJP president Dilip Ghosh and Kalyanpur MLA Pinaki Roy Choudhury. They joined Dr. Saha in listening to the programme and discussing its themes.
Dilip Ghosh echoed the Chief Minister’s views, stating that the Prime Minister’s recognition of Tripura’s bamboo craftsmanship aligns with ongoing efforts to promote cottage industries, generate rural employment, and preserve the region’s rich cultural heritage.
