Agartala: Feb 05: Allegations were made against the BJP sponsored miscreants who entered the CPIM booth office and beat up and vandalized the workers. The incident took place on Saturday night at the booth office adjacent to the Jagannathpur tea garden in Kailash. According to the details of the incident, BJP-backed miscreants entered the booth office and carried out an ambush.
CPIM workers named Liton Pal, Jhantu Pal, Ajay Malakar, Bappa Malakar, Laltu Das were seriously injured in this incident. Later, CPIM workers rescued the injured and took them to Unakoti District Hospital. Meanwhile, Congress candidate Birjit Sinha along with CPIM and Congress party workers rushed to the district hospital after hearing about the incident. Birjit Sinha strongly condemned the incident while inquiring about the physical condition of the injured.
He said that the miscreants of BJP organized an attack on the CPIM booth office adjacent to Jagannathpur tea garden at night. This is a very brutal incident. The police officers did not stop the miscreants. Therefore, he complained about the role of the police officer and said that the returning officer has been informed about this. Besides, the Election Commission will also be informed. So that action is taken against this police officer. Otherwise, he expressed concern that the election will not be held with zero violence. Apart from this, the Congress nominated candidate also demanded to file a spontaneous case with the police on this day. The accused on behalf of the injured are BJP office bearers Krishna Das and Sudhanshu Das. Miscreants under their leadership said that the incident was committed.
