Agartala: Jan 28: Congress has announced candidates for 17 seats in Tripura assembly elections. In that, the alliance with the Left has been tangled. Because the Left left 13 seats for the Congress. In this regard, the convenor of the Left Front, Narayan Kar, said that the seat will be discussed again with the Congress tonight. The Left Front will apply for their consideration. The final decision will be made tomorrow afternoon.
AICC general secretary Mukul Wasnik said in a press release that the list of candidates for Tripura 2023 assembly elections has been finalised. 17 Congress candidates will contest the elections. He said that in Mohanpur, Prashanta Sen Chowdhury, Barajala Shishta Mohan Das, Agartala Sudip Roy Barman, Town Baradowali Ashish Kumar Saha, Banmalipur Gopal Roy, Majlishpur Keshav Sarkar, Badharghat Raj Kumar Sarkar, Suryamannagar Sushanta Chakraborty, Charilam Ashok Debbarma, Teliamura Ashok Kumar Baidya, Radhakishorpur Teton Pal, Matabari Pranajit Roy, Kamalpur Ruby Gope, Karamchhara Diva Chandra Rankhwl, Pabiachhara Satyaban Das, Kailashahar Birjit Sinha and Dharmanagar Chayan Bhattacharjee are the candidates.
Talking about the Congress candidate list, Left Front convenor Narayan Kar said, “We are prepared to make maximum sacrifices to defeat the BJP.” Therefore, I have left CPM’s current MLA Mobswar Ali for Congress without fielding him in Kailasahar. I took that tough decision knowing that it would result in loss of CPM. The Congress candidate list was not considered there, he commented in a tone of anger.
According to him, the Left Front will hold a meeting with the Congress today regarding seats, will try to convince them. In this case, the final decision will be made by tomorrow afternoon, he said, expressing hope.
