Agartala: Jan 21: On demand of ‘My Vote, My Right’ & ‘Stop Poll Violence’ opposition Congress & CPIM led Left Front took out a rally in Agartala.
Senior leaders of the opposition parties including former CM and Opposition Leader Manik Sarkar, CPIM state secretary Jitendra Chowdhury, former Deputy Speaker of Tripura Legislative Assembly Pavitra Kar, AICC general secretary incharge of Tripura Dr Ajoy Kumar, Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman, Tripura Pradesh Congress president Birajit Sinha, former CM Samir Ranjan Barman, Ex MLA Asish Kumar Saha, AICC secretary incharge Tripura Szarita Laitphlang and others participating in the rally that started from the Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan.
Hundreds of supporters from various parties including Congress, CPIM, Revolutionary Socialist Party, Forward Block, CPI, CPIML & Tripura People’s Party.
They raised slogans against the political violence especially against the opposition parties and its supporters as they demanded the congenial atmosphere are there so that people have confidence that they can exercise their right to franchise without and fear.
The rally went through the streets of the capital city and later a nine members delegation consisting of leaders of seven parties meet with CEO Tripura Kiran Gitte and SP West Tripura district Sankar Debnath in the West District DM office and raised their concerns.
