Agartala, Sep 21 — The Ramakrishna Vivekananda Ashram at Ranikhamar will observe Durga Puja with a series of social and spiritual programs, reaffirming its commitment to service and devotion. At a press conference on Sunday, Swami Matri Moyananda Maharaj outlined the Ashram’s initiatives for the upcoming festival.
As part of its Narayan Seva philosophy — serving humanity as a form of worship — the Ashram will host a clothing distribution drive on Maha Sashti, ensuring underprivileged families can celebrate the festival with dignity. On Maha Ashtami, the traditional Kumari Puja will be performed at the Ashram premises, drawing devotees from diverse walks of life.
Reflecting on his personal journey, Swami Matri Moyananda Maharaj said, “I first arrived here on June 24, 2024. The committee members welcomed me with immense love and respect. Soon after, I took charge of the temple’s responsibilities, and within 11 months, we completed its renovation.”
He emphasised that the Ashram’s activities are guided by a vision of peace, prosperity, and inclusive growth, and that the management regularly communicates with government authorities to ensure continued development. “Our founder envisioned this Ashram not just as a spiritual center, but also as a source of nourishment and service. We are working tirelessly to fulfill that dream,” he added.
Concluding the press conference, the Maharaj extended an open invitation to people of all communities to join the celebrations. “Durga Puja is a festival of unity. We welcome everyone, irrespective of caste or creed, to take part in the Ashram’s programs and share in the spirit of devotion and service,” he said.
The Ashram’s initiatives this year are expected to draw large participation, reflecting its growing role as both a spiritual hub and a center of community welfare.
