Agartala, September 20: Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Tripura on September 22, the Gomati district police administration has issued a detailed traffic diversion plan to ensure smooth movement and heightened security. The visit will include a stop at the Mata Tripura Sundari temple in Udaipur, prompting restrictions in and around the temple premises.
For security reasons, vehicular movement will be completely restricted near the temple during the Prime Minister’s visit.
After landing at the Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport in Agartala, the Prime Minister is scheduled to travel by helicopter to Palatana. From there, he will proceed to the Tripura Sundari temple by road. To manage the expected traffic and maintain public convenience, alternative routes have been planned for various directions.
According to the police:
• Vehicles from South Tripura to Agartala must take the route via Garjee → Tulamura → Kakraban → Melaghar → Bishramganj → Agartala.
• Vehicles from Agartala to South Tripura will follow the reverse route via Bishramganj → Melaghar → Kakraban → Tulamura → Garjee → South Tripura.
• Traffic from Amarpur to Agartala should follow the path via Dropgate Market → Dhanisagar bank → Jail Road → New Town Road → Chanban Bridge → Agartala.
• Vehicles from Agartala to Amarpur are advised to take the Chanban Subhash Bridge → Central Road → Poultry Road → Dropgate Market → Amarpur.
Additionally, two alternate routes for Udaipur have been suggested:
1. Melaghar → Kishoreganj → Shilghati → Tepania → Udaipur
2. Kakraban → Kishoreganj → Shilghati → Tepania → Udaipur
The police have urged the public to cooperate and follow the new routes during the high-security visit.
