Agartala, September 5: In a significant step towards tackling the growing concern of mobile theft, West Agartala Police Station successfully recovered 28 lost mobile phones and handed them back to their rightful owners.
At a small ceremony, Superintendent of Police (SP), West Tripura, Namit Pathak, along with Additional SP Dhruva Nath, SDPO Sadar Deba Prasad Roy, and OC Rana Chatterjee, personally handed over the recovered devices on Friday.
Officials highlighted that the recovery was a major relief for the owners, as stolen mobile phones not only carry personal memories and contacts but also sensitive data linked to bank accounts, mobile banking, and digital passwords.
The initiative has been welcomed as a noteworthy achievement by the district police in restoring public trust and ensuring safety in the face of rising electronic gadget thefts.
