Agartala, August 8:
Tripura Legislative Assembly Speaker Biswabandhu Sen was hospitalised on Friday evening after falling ill while travelling on local train no. 55675 from Agartala to his residence in Dharmanagar, North Tripura.
According to reports, Sen, who was seated in coach B1, went to the train’s toilet around 5:50 PM and suddenly lost consciousness.
He was immediately rushed to Tripura Medical College (TMC) in Hapania for treatment. The exact cause of his illness is yet to be determined but it is suspected he had a stroke.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, who was attending a programme on getting the information, promptly left for TMC to meet the Speaker and consult with the attending doctors, many of whom he had previously worked alongside.
Sen remains under medical care at the hospital but might be shipped for better treatment according to latest report.
