Agartala: Mar 23: The Food Department has announced a deadline of March 31 for linking ration cards with Aadhaar cards, as part of the state government’s implementation of the ‘One Nation, One Ration Card’ initiative. This initiative positions the state as the first in the northeastern region to enable ration card beneficiaries to access ration from any part of the country.
Despite the promise of this initiative, challenges have surfaced in its implementation. Ration dealers have expressed concerns that a significant number of ration consumers in the state have not yet completed the KYC (Know Your Customer) process. They fear that failure to complete the KYC process before the deadline may prevent many from benefiting from the project.
In response, ration dealers in Tripura have urged consumers to promptly complete the KYC process by visiting their respective ration centers. They emphasized the importance of meeting the deadline to ensure access to the benefits of Aadhaar linking and the ‘One Nation, One Ration Card’ initiative.
