Agartala: Mar 10: In a press conference on Monday, NSUI state president Sourav Kumar Shil demanded the resignation of the Chief Minister, accusing the state government of failure in the education sector. Sourav Kumar claimed that the BJP has consistently worked against the interests of students. He pointed out several major issues in the education sector, including the shortage of teachers, the spread of drugs, and other systemic failures. However, he criticized both the state government and the Chief Minister for their indifference towards these pressing issues.
Sourav further highlighted a growing concern over drug addiction among students, particularly in college campuses, a problem that has worsened over the past seven years. He asserted that such a situation had never been seen before, but the state government had taken no concrete steps to address the crisis.
The NSUI president also expressed surprise over BJP National President J.P. Nadda’s recent announcement that girls who pass their secondary exams will be given scooters. Sourav Kumar questioned the feasibility of such a promise, as the age for obtaining a driving license is 18, while girls who complete their secondary education are typically between 16 and 17 years old. He raised concerns over the practicality of fulfilling such a commitment.
Sourav Kumar Shil concluded by stating that the condition of the education sector under the current government is deplorable. He insisted that the only solution to the problems facing education in the state was for the state government to resign and step down from power, asserting that this was necessary for any real change to take place.
