Agartala, March 5: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to celebrate the second anniversary of its second government in Tripura with a massive public gathering at Swami Vivekananda Maidan in Agartala on March 9. The event will be graced by BJP’s All India President and Union Health Minister JP Nadda, along with Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, state ministers, and other senior party leaders.
Announcing the event at a press conference at the state BJP headquarters on Wednesday, BJP state president and MP Rajib Bhattacharjee emphasized that the rally will highlight the achievements of the BJP-led government over the past two years.
Bhattacharjee further noted that the event would also underscore the accomplishments of the BJP-led central government over the last eleven years and the state government’s performance over seven years.
He cited the implementation of over 100 public welfare schemes, including the Mudra Yojana and PM Vishwakarma Yojana, aimed at benefiting diverse sections of society.
The BJP state president claimed that Tripura is progressing toward self-sufficiency in food production and has become a leader in several development indicators.
Highlighting key initiatives, the BJP state president spoke about the government’s focus on women and youth empowerment, agriculture, housing, drinking water, and connectivity.
He also lauded the growth of self-help groups (SHGs) led by women, revealing that 91,000 Lakhpati Didis have emerged under government schemes.
On the law and order front, Bhattacharjee asserted that the crime rate has declined significantly under the BJP government.
He reported that 2,308 NDPS cases have been registered in the past five years, leading to the arrest of 4,276 drug traffickers.
Bhattacharjee criticized the previous Left Front government, accusing it of fostering drug trafficking and impeding the state’s progress for political motives.
He added that the highlight of the development work under BJP’s governance will state with the capital city and followed by at district, booth, and mandal levels to showcase the transformative impact of the present government’s policies.
To ensure the success of the upcoming rally, BJP has launched an extensive grassroots-level campaign. A dedicated team, led by Minister Ratan Lal Nath, has been formed to oversee preparations. Additionally, BJP workers from various organizational units will hold separate meetings to mobilize public participation.
Calling upon the people of Tripura to attend in large numbers, Bhattacharjee said that this public meeting will not only celebrate two years of BJP governance but will also reaffirm our commitment to building a prosperous Tripura.
Senior cabinet minister Ratan Lal Nath, former minister Bhagaban Das, and other BJP office bearers were also present at the press conference.
It may be noted that on March 3, 2023, the BJP was re-elected to power in Tripura for the second consecutive term, and the second cabinet under Chief Minister Manik Saha took oath on March 8.
