Agartala: Mar 02: On Sunday, a significant milestone in education was marked with the land worship and foundation stone laying ceremony for the Mata Tripura Sundari Open University in Udaipur’s Chandrapur area. The university, to be constructed at an estimated cost of 50 crore rupees, aims to provide accessible education across the region.
The event was attended by notable figures, including Finance Minister Pranjit Singh Roy as the chief guest. Minister Shukla Charan Noatia, MLA Abhishek Debroy, Rishiraj Maharaj, and Hemant Goel, Chairman of the university’s sponsoring body, were also present.
In his speech, Finance Minister Pranjit Singh Roy emphasized that the establishment of Mata Tripura Sundari Open University would significantly enhance the state’s education sector. He highlighted the potential of open universities to make education more accessible, particularly for students facing barriers to traditional learning systems. Held in the Chandrapur Colony, within the Matabari assembly constituency, the ceremony marks a crucial step towards improving the quality of education in Tripura.
