Agartala: Feb 26: A Bangladeshi woman, Jasmin Khatun, was detained by the Agartala Government Railway Police (GRP) on Tuesday afternoon following a joint operation conducted by the Railway Protection Force (RPF), Border Security Force (BSF), and Agartala GRP. The operation took place at the Agartala Railway Station, where the woman was found to have entered the state of Tripura illegally.
During questioning, Jasmin Khatun, 24, revealed that she hailed from Tangail, Bangladesh, and had traveled to Agartala with the intention of continuing her journey to Kolkata. Her illegal entry into India has led to the registration of a specific case against her.
On Wednesday, the Agartala GRP station police produced Jasmin Khatun before the court for further proceedings. Authorities are likely to pursue legal action as per the relevant immigration and border security laws. The operation highlights the ongoing efforts by Indian security agencies to control illegal border crossings and maintain law and order in border regions.
