Agartala, February 17: The Youth Tipra Federation (YTF) has lodged complaints across multiple police stations in Tripura against the owner of the Facebook page ‘News Anusandhan’ for allegedly using derogatory language against Tipra Motha founder Pradyot Kishore Debbarma. The page reportedly referred to him as “batpar”, a Bengali term meaning fraud or cheat.
According to YTF, the post, published on February 16, was made with malafide intent to create communal disharmony in the state.
In their complaint, YTF stated: “Calling our Bubagra (Pradyot Kishore) a ‘batpar’ is an insult not only to him but also to the entire Tiprasa (ST) community. Such statements can incite hatred between communities in Tripura. We urge the authorities to take strict legal action under the SC & ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act against the owner, controller, handler, and others associated with ‘News Anusandhan’ who are behind this conspiracy.”
YTF has demanded immediate and stringent legal action against the Facebook page’s owner, emphasizing the need to prevent such defamatory content that could disturb social harmony.
