Agartala: Feb 15: Police in Tripura have made a significant breakthrough in a case filed under the Arms Act, recovering a 7mm pistol and an empty magazine from the Jagatpur area. The investigation, which began last year, led to the arrest of three individuals – Rajkumar Debnath, Palash Pal, and another suspect – from Jagatpur. Initially, no firearms were found during searches of their homes .
However, after Rajkumar Debnath was placed in police remand, he confessed to possessing a weapon. Acting on this lead, police searched Debnath’s residence on Saturday and recovered the 7mm pistol and magazine. The authorities are now investigating the origins of the firearm and its potential use in criminal activities.
The recovered weapon is a crucial piece of evidence in the ongoing case. Police have remanded the accused individuals in custody for three days while they continue their inquiries.
