Agartala: Feb 07: In a well-coordinated operation on the night of February 6, 2025, the Madhupur police, acting on secret information, recovered a pistol along with three rounds of ammunition from the house of Anjan Das, a resident of the Radhanagar Harihardola area. The operation was carried out in collaboration with the Border Security Force (BSF), highlighting the close cooperation between local law enforcement and central agencies.
According to a police officer, the authorities received a tip-off regarding the presence of illegal firearms at Anjan Das’s residence. Acting swiftly on the information, a joint team of Madhupur police and BSF personnel raided the house late last night. During the search, the authorities found a pistol and three rounds of bullets concealed within the property.
Anjan Das, aged 47, was immediately detained and taken into police custody for questioning. The police have yet to confirm the intended purpose of the firearm, but the recovery of such weapons has raised concerns about illegal arms trafficking in the area.
This operation highlights the ongoing efforts by local police and security forces to combat the spread of illegal firearms and ensure public safety.
