Agartala: Feb 01: Once again, the Agartala GRP (Government Railway Police) has successfully arrested two Indian brokers involved in assisting the illegal entry of Bangladeshi nationals into India. According to Agartala GRP Officer-in-Charge Tapas Das, the arrests were made late Friday night with the assistance of the Sidhai, Lefunga, and Bamungram police stations.
The two individuals arrested were identified as Rajdhan Sarkar from Talatala Sidhai and Akash Roy from Lefunga. Both are accused of facilitating the illegal entry of Bangladeshi citizens into India. The Agartala GRP has filed a case against them, and the arrested individuals were brought to court on Saturday.
In response to questions from the media, Officer Tapas Das mentioned that in January, a total of 9 Bangladeshi nationals and 13 brokers were arrested at the Agartala Railway Station. This operation is part of ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies to curb human trafficking and illegal immigration.
The authorities are continuing their investigations, and the police are taking strict action against individuals involved in such illegal activities, further ensuring the safety and security of the border regions. The arrests of these brokers highlight the authorities’ commitment to tackling cross-border illegal activities and preventing human trafficking.
