Agartala: Dec 21: The 72nd Plenary Meeting of the North Eastern Council (NEC) has commenced today at the Pragya Bhavan in Agartala, under the chairmanship of Union Home Minister and Chairman of the North Eastern Council, Amit Shah. The meeting was inaugurated in the presence of key dignitaries including Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, Minister of State Dr. Sukanta Majumdar, as well as Governors, Chief Ministers, and senior officials from all the North Eastern states.
On this occasion, Chief Minister of Tripura, Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha, extended a warm welcome to all the Chief Ministers, Governors, distinguished guests, and attendees from the North Eastern states. The discussions during this meeting will focus on various developmental issues concerning the North Eastern region.
This 72nd NEC Plenary is the first one to be held in Tripura since the formation of the BJP-led coalition government in the state. It is a significant event for the region, as it brings together key decision-makers to address critical issues of development, infrastructure, and governance in the North Eastern states. In light of the importance of the meeting, the administration has implemented tight security measures across Agartala to ensure the smooth conduct of the event.
