Agartala: Dec 19: A joint operation by Assam Rifles and the Manipur Police resulted in the successful recovery of weapons and war-like stores from the General Area Nepali Khutti, Laimaton Thangbuh Village, located 13.5 kilometers south of Kotlen COB. The operation led to the seizure of a significant cache of illegal weapons and explosives, which included one .303 Sniper Modified, one .22 Rifle, two Single Barrel Rifles, one 9mm Pistol, five 12 Bore Cartridges, one .303 live round, one Improvised Explosive Device (IED), one detonator, 10 meters of safety fuse, 100 grams of commercial explosives, one battery pack, two tube launchers, one stun grenade, one tear smoke grenade, one chilli grenade, fifty-three anti-riot rubber bullets, three tear smoke shell soft noses, two wood piercing shells, one two-in-one anti-riot shell, and one dummy shell. All recovered items were handed over to the police for further investigation.
In recent months, Assam Rifles and the Manipur Police have intensified intelligence-based operations aimed at identifying and dismantling illegal weapon smuggling networks. Through effective surveillance and coordinated efforts, these forces have been successful in intercepting illegal weapon supplies and confiscating significant quantities of weaponry.
