Agartala: Nov 17: The Nerist Agartala Chapter’s alumni, who have been active since 1986, gathered on Saturday, November 9, at the local Ayush village to discuss and decide on various social welfare activities. The reunion saw participation from former members working outside of Tripura as well.
The social responsibility activities began on Sunday, November 17, with a significant contribution to the elderly. Alumni members donated essential food items and other necessary supplies to the Sandhynir Old Age Home. The donated items included 130 kg of rice, 5 kg of lentils, 10 kg of flour, 2 kg of Evride milk powder, 5 kg of sugar, 2 kg of spices, 5 kg of soybean, 10 liters of mustard oil, 1 kg of ghee, eggs, biscuits, snacks, as well as toiletries like 10 kg of detergent powder, phenyl, mosquito coils, and more.
The event was attended by several prominent alumni, including Dwipjoy Sarkar from Tripura Gramin Bank, Saptarshi Pal, Rajat Kanti Saha from the State Bank of India, Ayush village owner Bishwanath Das, Jhiku Das, Tanmoy Das, John Debbarma, Bishwajit Bhowmik, Prasenjit Saha, and many others. The organizers pledged to continue such social activities in the future, demonstrating their ongoing commitment to serving the community and fulfilling their social responsibilities.
