Agartala: Nov 12: Ahead of the Durga Puja celebrations, the President of Tripura Pradesh Congress, Ashish Kumar Saha, along with MLA Sudip Roy Barman and other leaders, visited the riot-affected areas of Kadamtala. The region had recently witnessed communal violence, causing significant unrest between the Hindu and Muslim communities. During their visit, the leaders assessed the situation, met with the affected residents, and expressed deep concern over the violence.
Ashish Kumar Saha criticized the state’s administration for its failure to prevent the clashes, suggesting that the unrest was a result of administrative negligence. He termed the violence as not just a communal riot, but a deliberate attack that was allowed to escalate due to the inaction of security forces.
Sudip Roy Barman also expressed solidarity with the victims and called for immediate government intervention to restore peace and justice in the affected areas. The Congress leaders urged for an urgent investigation into the incidents and demanded swift action against those responsible for the violence. They also appealed to the people to maintain peace and harmony, stressing the need for communal unity ahead of the upcoming festive season.
