Agartala: Oct 22: In a recent operation, the Government Railway Police (GRP) in Tripura detained five individuals for illegal entry into the state. The detainees include three Rohingya and two Bangladeshi nationals. According to GRP station house officer Tapas Das, the individuals will be presented in court today, where police remand will be sought.
Despite the Border Security Force (BSF) maintaining strict surveillance along the Tripura border, incidents of illegal entry continue to occur. Acting on a tip-off, a joint operation was conducted by the GRP, Railway Protection Force (RPF), and BSF at Agartala railway station. The operation aimed to intercept Rohingya and Bangladeshi nationals suspected of planning to travel to other states.
During the operation, five individuals were detained and brought to the police station. Upon interrogation, they admitted to entering Tripura illegally and disclosed their plans to travel to other states. The Rohingya nationals intended to go to Hyderabad, while the Bangladeshi nationals were planning to travel to Mumbai. Specific charges have been filed against them, and they will be produced in court today.
