Agartala: Sept 30: Tripura Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman has criticized Chief Minister Professor Manik Saha’s directive to reopen old murder cases, stating that once a verdict has been delivered, there’s no provision for re-investigation. Barman accused the Chief Minister of making absurd statements, suggesting he should have consulted experts before speaking publicly.
Barman highlighted the state’s pressing issues, including people dying without treatment and deteriorating education. He contradicted the BJP’s claims of Tripura becoming a health and education hub, instead labeling it a hotspot for vigilante groups
However, Chief Minister Manik Saha has maintained that his government is working to upgrade health and education infrastructure. He announced plans to establish a new law institute, dental college, and medical college in the state ¹. The central government has also allocated Rs 81.75 crores for education and healthcare improvements in Tripura.
The debate raises questions about the BJP’s governance and the state’s development. While the government claims progress, opposition leaders like Barman point out the need to address fundamental issues.
