Agartala: Sept 13: In line with the statement made by the state electricity minister, Ratan Lal Nath, in the state assembly, the Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL) has taken over all responsibilities from the private electricity service provider, FIDCO. This change was implemented from 11 AM on Friday to make customer service more people-oriented.
Previously, FIDCO managed customer service and bill collection for several departments under TSECL. The transition affects the Ambassa, Gandacherra, Chamanu, and Manu subdivisions under the Dhalai circle; Mohanpur, Hejambara, Bamutia, and Lefunga subdivisions under the Agartala II circle; and Sabrum and Satichandra subdivisions under the South Tripura circle.
The decision comes after continuous complaints from consumers. TSECL has now taken over the service to provide faster and improved customer service. From Friday onwards, TSECL will be fully responsible for all services to consumers in the affected areas and will also handle electricity bill collections. Consumers have been requested to cease any transactions or official connections with FIDCO from today onwards.
