Agartala, August 16: The swearing-in ceremony for Tripura’s fourth Lokayukta was held at the Raj Bhavan on Friday, where Dr. Bibash Kanti Kilickdar took the oath as the new Lokayukta. The oath was administered by Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu.
Dr. Kilikdar, Retd. Judge (Tripura Judicial Service) was also former member of Tripura Public Service Commission and is presently-member of advisory board in various departments.
In his address to reporters following the ceremony, Dr. Kilickdar emphasized the importance of combating corruption, a significant issue in today’s world. He sought the support of everyone, particularly the media, in this crucial fight.
Dr. Kilickdar also noted that Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha is committed to steering Tripura toward becoming a zero-corruption state.
Dr. Kilickdar succeeds senior advocate Kalyan Narayan Bhattacharjee, who served as Lokayukta from July 1, 2021.
The ceremony was attended by several high-ranking officials, including Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, the Chief Secretary, the Director General of Police (DGP), and others.
