Agartala, December 18: Soon after Prime Minister Narendra Modi left the state on Sunday evening after launching several project works, the opposition CPI(M) reacted sharply to his visit to the state and said, “BJP party is suing the government machinery,” for the party’s election campaign in view of the upcoming assembly elections.
CPI(M) state secretary Jitendra Chowdhary said at the Agartala Melarmath party office here on Sunday, “With elections round the corner, the BJP party has paralyzed the entire administrative system of the state and put the people of this state in jeopardy.”
He said, “The people of this state, who are disappointed with the misrule of the BJP government during the last 5 years, were waiting for the Prime Minister to explain the reason for the failure of the BJP to fulfill the pre-poll promises of 2018. Apart from this, we were also expecting that PM Modi will make some announcements for the state as he has come to the state just before the assembly elections. But, nothing happened; instead PM Modi left the people of this state in trouble and spent a huge amount of public money.”
Underlining PM Modi’s statements on Sunday, the CPI(M) leader said, “The task of making Agartala airport international was done in front of the Modi government, while PM Modi gave the credit for it to his government.” PM Modi also credited his government for renaming the airport to MBB International Airport but we are not seeing any such initiative of flying international flights in the airport and moreover it is highly doubtful that in near future No international flights will land at the airport.
“PM Modi also talked about the Agartala-Akhaura rail project. This project was also started before the Modi government and has not been completed yet and now it is being told that the work of the project will be completed by next 2023. Even the completion of this project is in doubt.”
“During the last 5 years no initiative has been taken to develop the industrial sector of the state, rather many industries and production have been shut down due to mafia rule in Bodjangnagar Industrial Development Centre,” he said. Mafia-Raj, outside investors stopped coming to Tripura state to set up their industry.
Chowdhary also criticized the Modi-led government at the Center for the development of ‘tribals’ and said, “Prime Minister Modi today claimed that his government has worked for the development of tribals, but we have seen that the government has A large number of people were evicted. The tribal families of Gujarat were forced to install Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s statue and the government neither compensated those evicted tribal families.
